Waffle Flower 2019 August Release Blog Hop

Welcome to Waffle Flower August 2019 Release Blog Hop! This release focuses on using stamps & dies to organize your ink and paper supplies and document your favorite color combos. And of course you will also get to see more of floral and cutesy images.

<Card 1>

First of all, we got Bouquet Builder 5 with another gorgeous bouquet from Karla Jodoin this month.  To start with my card, I colored the images with copic markers from Bouquet Builder 5 Stamp set and cut with the Matching dies.

To prepare my background, I grabbed the Big Dots Die and ran it through my cutting machine with adding a rubber mat in between to make impression of the patterns instead of cutting through the paper.

I attached the colored images to my background, and heat embossed my sentiment “Happy Anniversary” from Iris You Stamp set with white embossing powder over black card stock paper.  I added the sentiment onto the background with some sparkling clear sequins surrounding my bouquet.

<Card 2>

Now this Make Wave stamp below with a cute mermaid mouse from Liz Mytinge is a gem! It is a 2×3 sized stamp set. It has really low price point but still enough to create your scene easily.

To make this card, I first ink blended onto a piece of watercolor paper using Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Tumbled Glass and Wilted Violet. I splattered some water droplets to create cool effect to mimic the bubbles. Then I cute the white frame part using Cloudscape Panel Die and partially removed clouds portion. I laid the frame over my inked background using foam tape.

I colored images from Make Wave Stamp set with copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I attached them onto my background and stamped the sentiment. I finished my card by adding some sparkling clear sequins.

<Card 3>

JJ Bolton always designs fun dies. She designed this Big Dot Die this month for a bold and graphic look.

For those two cards I made were simple and quick. They are perfect to make for a few within short amount of time as friendly gifts.

I first ink blended an A2 sized watercolor paper using Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean. Then I cut it with Big Dots Die. I separate the die cuts into to parts. I attached the positive part over the white woodgrain cardstock paper and stamped the sentiment “THANKS” from Big Dots Sentiment Stamp set. Then I attached the negative part of die cuts onto another piece of white woodgrain cardstock paper. I white embossed the sentiment “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” also from Big Dots Sentiment Stamp set onto black cardstock paper and cut to rectangle shape to fit into the center part.

<Color Swatches>

I nearly use Tim Holtz Distress inks for all my handmade cards. So it is so thankful that Waffle Flower came up with lots of color swatches stamps and dies. I made 3 tags of my favorite ink blending color combo to start my color swatching journey.

I first die cut my tag using Color Combos Tag Die out of white card stock papers. Then I blended all my selected colors onto another piece of card stock paper and die cut to the shapes I desired with Color Combo Die. I attached them into the tags and marked the name of colors.
